3 Common Objectives of Digital Media Marketing

"Marketing objectives are a brands defined goals" (Alexa Blog, 2020). These goals are used as an outline for people like the marketing team and stand as a clear direction for the team to follow. They are important as they allow you to track progress and make amends along the way to further that progress. They also work as a clear outline of what you need your team (or yourself) to do.

What defines a good Market objective. Generally the SMART acronym is used 

(S)pecific: clearly defined goals so that everyone understands the objective

(M)easurable: The goals are monitorable by looking at analytics to see improvements

(A)chievable: The goals are within the ability of your team

(R)elevant: The goals are relevant to your brand and its message

(T)ime-Bound: The goals need a deadline

Digital media marketing is very important but what are 3 good digital marketing objectives that i can use for my game. Marketing objectives can range from a multitude of different things depending on your needs.

 For my game I think the best objectives would be: (Mike Ncube, 2020)

-  To increase downloads. Increasing downloads especially for me would be a good thing to measure as at would show growth of my brand. I would like to increase my downloads by 150 in the next 6 months. I can measure this directly off the itch.io page.

- To decrease bounce rate. Bounce rate shows me how many people enter my page and then leave without downloading. By analysing this I would be able to make changes to make the page and content more appealing  so people are less likely to leave the page. I would like to get my bounce rate to below 20% in the next 6 months. Again this can be taken from the itch.io page but I will have to do some maths to calculate the percentage.

- To increase traffic volume to my page. continuoulsy monitoring traffic volume will show me good times for when to make certain post or build some hype. Traffic volume also directly shows the growth of my influence outside of just the itch page and i think it shows brand growth exceptionally well. I wish to increase page views by 500 in the next 6 months.
